We could talk forever about how we can help take your shop to the next level, but wouldn’t you rather hear from some of our customers?
From military helicopters and fighter jets to commercial aircraft, there is a high demand for the aerospace manufacturing expertise found at Seyer Industries. To keep pace with vast amounts of production, the company relies heavily on the advanced capabilities of Mastercam software, through it’s partnership with QTE Manufacturing Solutions.
According to Mark Seyer, vice president of manufacturing. “Competing for flight parts is a high-risk, high-reward venture because of the heavy investment required in advanced CNC equipment and product development man-hours that are essential to obtaining significant contracts.”
Customers continually present Seyer with new materials, more difficult shapes, and thinner walls that reduce weight but don’t compromise strength. The challenges of increased geometric complexity have resulted in programmers utilizing the full extent of Mastercam software for everything from managing multi-axis parts to utilizing toolpaths with Dynamic Motion technology. As for future growth for this aerospace company, the sky’s the limit.
Wolfert’s Tool and Machine initially purchased Mastercam software to meet the demands of manufacturing aerospace parts. Then owner Ken Wolfert read that the fine hardwoods used to make electric guitar bodies are becoming endangered. That’s when he explored how Mastercam could manufacture these guitar bodies from aluminum using a similar a processes for manufacturing aircraft parts.
After a lot of research, as well as some trial and error, Wolfert’s team successfully created and produced the perfect aluminum-body guitar. And Metalin’ Guitar was born.
By partnering with QTE Manufacturing Solutions, and with Mastercam in place, Wolfert’s sales doubled in five years. The employee base went from 10 to 15 people. Plus, productivity improvements made it possible for the company to keep pace with its growing aerospace workload and diversify into guitar manufacturing. And that was music to this company’s ears.
Triple C machines steel for the automotive and appliance industries. As they began to expand into 3D work, company president Jason Cantrell knew it was time to utilize CAD/CAM software options for their CNC machines.
“When you get into 3D machining,” states Cantrell, “You quickly find out that software is not an option, it’s must have equipment. Mastercam CNC software has worked great for us and QTE Manufacturing Solutions has always been there to help when required.”
Triple C relies on CAD/CAM software to program its CNC milling machines and lathes. With short lead times and a full workload, these machines get the job done with optimum toolpaths speeds using Mastercam. It has also resulted in minimizing or eliminating air cutting entirely for reduced tool wear and tear. Mastercam makes sense, and profits, for Triple C.
